Mara Apostol began her legal career as an Assistant Public Defender in 2014 after graduating from Georgetown University Law Center. While serving as a trial attorney, in the Padilla Program, as a training attorney, and now as the Senior Supervising Attorney for the Behavioral Health Division, Mara has advocated for the dignity and autonomy of our clients and taken a holistic approach to ensuring that they make informed decisions about their legal cases. Mara has provided numerous trainings for criminal defense attorneys in the areas of immigration consequences, pretrial release, case investigation, and seeking treatment options for the indigent accused. Mara is barred in the State of Florida and before the Supreme Court of the United States.
