Thriving Mind contracts with providers for mental health and substance use treatment and prevention services. This website lists only what Thriving Mind contracts for. For a provider’s full list of services, please refer to their websites.

The Living Room model is a community crisis center that offers people experiencing a mental health crisis an alternative to hospitalization. When people experience a mental health crisis, they are faced with the decision to go to the emergency department or to try to manage the crisis themselves.

Studies have found that regular consumption of dark chocolate significantly lowers the odds of clinically relevant depressive symptoms. In a cross-sectional survey of over 13,000 US adults, people who ate dark chocolate in the past 24 hours were 70% less likely to report depression. It doesn’t take much to achieve these positive effects – the dark chocolate consumers in the study ate a little less than half an ounce. To maximize the health benefits, try eating dark chocolate made of 70% cocoa or more. This minimizes your calorie and sugar intake. #FunFridayFact #MentalHealth

On Nov. 19, Thriving Mind’s Shaymaa Abdrabou, MS, CBHCM, Care Coordinator, Florida Department of Corrections Re-Entry Program, and Estefany Velazco, BA, Adult System of Care Administrative Assistant, attended the Reentry Fair at South Florida Reception Center, South Unit. The event was a Reentry Resource Fair for inmates releasing back into the community within the next 90 days. The organizations in attendance represented various needs such as employment, educational/vocational services, probation, family services, mental health, and substance use treatment services.

The site will house its new Full Case Management Agency for child welfare as well as Mobile Response Team.
