HUMANITY FORWARD AND AIDEN HEALTH PARTNER TO DONATE100K MASKS TO 10 U.S. HEALTH CENTERS

NEW YORK — Humanity Forward and Aiden Health are partnering to deliver 100,000 masks to 10 community organizations across the United States, including Thriving Mind South Florida. The masks, which will be made available to the general public at no cost, will be used to help curb the spread of COVID-19.

Each of the 10 clinics provide affordable services to primarily low-income and underrepresented communities.

“Access to effective services is always important, but the need for services has clearly persisted and even increased in several ways during this pandemic,” said John W. Newcomer, M.D., President and CEO of Thriving Mind.

The following organizations will receive donations of 10,000 masks each:

  • FirstMed Health & Wellness Centers – Las Vegas, Nevada
  • El Centro Family Health – Española, New Mexico
  • Alabama Regional Medical Services – Birmingham, Alabama
  • HealthPoint – Seattle, Washington
  • Los Barrios Unidos Community Clinic – Dallas, Texas
  • Thriving Mind South Florida – Miami, Florida
  • The Free Medical Clinic – Columbia, South Carolina
  • Arc Mental Health – Hialeah, FL
  • New Horizons Community Mental Health Center – Miami, FL
  • Unity Healthcare – Washington, D.C.

“Our organization is proud to partner with Aiden Health to donate 100,000 masks to communities that need additional resources,” said Andrew Yang, former presidential candidate and founder of Humanity Forward. “Wearing masks is the easiest thing we can do to stop the spread of COVID-19. Doing so makes it clear that you care for and respect others—the more masks we can make available, the better.

Earlier this year, Humanity Forward purchased more than $2,000 worth of face shields and PPE through Operation Masks, which was donated to frontline healthcare workers in Detroit. In addition to the organization’s donations of masks, Humanity Forward has led the fight for more cash relief for Americans amidst the current public health and economic crisis. Humanity Forward has alone provided millions of dollars in COVID-19 relief in the form of direct cash to thousands of Americans across the country.

Aiden Health’s mission is to make critical medical supplies available directly from the source to frontline workers. “Unstable supply means unprotected workers. The U.S. needs a steady, low-priced supply of PPE right now. That stability comes from strong supply chains with diverse, medical grade product. We’ve gone as far as investing in factory production capacity in order to make that happen,” said Gerrine Pan, head of Hospital and Government Response for Aiden Health.

Humanity Forward is a new 501(c)(4) non-profit organization dedicated to continuing the movement inspired by Andrew Yang’s 2020 Presidential Campaign and to making its core ideas a reality, including universal basic income, human-centered capitalism, and data as a property right founded by former presidential candidate Andrew Yang.

Studies have found that regular consumption of dar Studies have found that regular consumption of dark chocolate significantly lowers the odds of clinically relevant depressive symptoms. In a cross-sectional survey of over 13,000 US adults, people who ate dark chocolate in the past 24 hours were 70% less likely to report depression. It doesn’t take much to achieve these positive effects – the dark chocolate consumers in the study ate a little less than half an ounce. To maximize the health benefits, try eating dark chocolate made of 70% cocoa or more. This minimizes your calorie and sugar intake. #FunFridayFact #MentalHealth

Celebrating Resilience and Recovery at Jessie Tric Celebrating Resilience and Recovery at Jessie Trice Community Health Center

Last week, Jessie Trice Community Health Center, one of Thriving Mind’s valued providers, hosted a heartfelt graduation ceremony honoring the women who completed the “Jefferson Reaves House” Women’s Residential Program. The event marked a significant milestone for each of the graduates, whose journeys of recovery were celebrated with pride, joy, and moving expressions of hope for the future.

Derek Moore, Peer Services Manager at Thriving Mind, was in attendance to support and recognize the achievements of these inspiring women. The room was filled with emotion as the graduates were showered with well wishes and encouragement, symbolizing not just the end of a program, but the beginning of a renewed chapter.

A special acknowledgment goes to Mr. Assan Njie, BSW, CAC, Director of Residential Services, whose unwavering leadership and compassion continue to guide and uplift each graduating cohort. As Mr. Njie beautifully shared during the ceremony, “This is not a treatment center, it is a home.”

This celebration is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when compassion, community, and determination come together.
