Thriving Mind’s CEO and President, Dr. John W. Newcomer, spoke Friday at NAMI Miami-Dade’s Pathways to Hope Conference held at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral. His talk was titled: Improving Access to Mental Health and Substance Use Treatment and Prevention – Pathways to Hope.
Esther Serrano, Thriving Mind’s Peer services Specialist, also spoke at the event.
Those in attendance included representatives from many community-based and faith-based organizations who work to address mental health and substance use issues in our communities. The talk comes as our organization and others prepare for Suicide Awareness Month in September.
NAMI Miami-Dade is one of Thriving Mind’s provider organizations and conducts many outreach events, such as this one, in our community. Thriving Mind is grateful for this continued collaboration.
