On April 12, 2022, Allison Schild, Thriving Mind’s Peer Services Manager, attended the bill signing of SB 7034, which increases the amount of money relative caregivers receive when they take children into their home and also increases the age for youth in care who receive college tuition from the state. The bill signing event took place at Miami-Dade College. In addition to her role at Thriving Mind, Ms. Schild serves as vice chair of the CBC Alliance. The organization engages the child welfare community, system stakeholders and community partners to identify and address system challenges and barriers that impact outcomes for children and families in Miami-Dade.
Representatives from Citrus Family Care Network also attended the event.
